The thought and lifestyle influence greatly on the activities of the human and thereby affect the socio-economic development. Each ethnic group has its own characteristics of thought and lifestyle, the thought and lifestyle of the Vietnamese are not beyond such characteristic, it has its own features. The research on the thought and lifestyle characteristics of the Vietnamese is a great and complicated issue. The book focuses on clarifying the general theoretical issues about thought and lifestyle, indicates the traditional thought and lifestyle aspect of the Vietnamese, the change in the innovation and international integration period as well as the general direction and solutions to continue to innovate the thought, build new lifestyle of the Vietnamese today.
The content is presented in 4 parts. Part 1: General theoretical issues about thought and lifestyle, the author focuses on analyzing the relationship between thought and lifestyle; specifies the concept, classified thought, life style and its role in the human life.
Part 2: Traditional thought and lifestyle characteristics of the Vietnamese, the author analyzes the formation of traditional thought and lifestyle of the Vietnamese in the history; states the individual and the common in the traditional thought and lifestyle, the basic content of traditional thought and lifestyle of the Vietnamese.
Part 3: The change of thought and lifestyle of the Vietnamese in the innovation and international integration period. In this part, the author analyzes the factors affecting the change of thought and lifestyle, methods to innovate thought and lifestyle, characteristics of new thought and new lifestyle. The factors that affect thought and lifestyle include: impact of policies and institutions; impact of the industrialization and modernization; impact of the market economy; impact of human factors; impact of regional and global environment... The author also indicates the advantages, limitations of new thought and proposes some directions to continue innovating thought.
Part 4: General directions and basic solutions to continue innovating thought and build new lifestyles of the Vietnamese at present.
For thought innovation: improve the theoretical thought level of the Vietnamese; innovate thought methods and contents of the Vietnamese. Basic solutions: speed up industrialization and modernization; speed up the development of market economy, opening door, international integration; hold firmly the political stability and socialist orientation; arouse and promote the creativity of the Vietnamese.
For building new lifestyle: overcome the limitations, negativeness and promote the positive aspects in the traditional lifestyle. Basic solutions: determine clearly and create the consensus on new lifestyle ethical standards for the Vietnamese at present; promote the positive characteristics of the Vietnamese national character; acquire selectively the values in the lifestyle of the other ethnic groups; build a healthy social environment, intensify the law awareness education for all members in the society; improve the intellectual standards of the people, implement democracy…
