On the morning of February 21, 2023, at the head office at No. 1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Dr. Phan Chi Hieu, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences had a courtesy visit to Mr. Ri Ho Jun, Chargé d'Affaires of the Democratic People's Republic of Korea in Vietnam.

On the afternoon of February 10, 2023, at the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS - Academy), Dr. Phan Chi Hieu, President of the Academy had a meeting with Indian Ambassador to Vietnam, Mr. Sandeep Arya.

The Vietnam Journal for Indian and Asian Studies (VJIAS), Institute for Indian and Southwest Asian Studies (VIIAS) under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) in collaboration with the Embassy of the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka in Vietnam and Hoa Dam Special Journal, the Buddhist Women's Research Center under the Vietnam Institute of Buddhist Studies in Ho Chi Minh City launched a special edition of the journal themed “Sri Lanka - Vietnam Buddhist and Historical Relations” in a combination of both in-person and online on December 29th, 2022.

On the morning of November 30, 2022, at the 6th floor hall, 1B Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Research Institutes of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in collaboration with the Center for Southeast Asian Studies, Kyoto University held a scientific seminar “Sharing experiences of digital transformation and building research database of Kyoto University” with the participation of many delegates from the library blocks of units under the Academy and the presence of a large number of officials and employees of the Institute of Social Science Information. The conference was honoured to welcome Dr. Dang Xuan Thanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) attended and directed the Seminar.

On September 12, 2022, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) in collaboration with the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences (CASS) and the Lao Academy Social Economics Sciences (LASES) organized the Forum The IXth international forum on socialism, the model of socialism in the new context of the times: Theoretical and Practical Issues in direct form in Hanoi and online connection in Beijing, China.
