The assignment is focused on: Theoretical and practical grounds for international integration of social sciences for the next 10 years; Analysis and assessment of the Vietnam’s social science reality from the perspective of integration; Recommendation of viewpoints and basic measures to serve the international integration strategy of Vietnam’s social sciences for the period 2011 – 2020.
Research findings are described in 3 chapters, as below:
Chapter 1: Theoretical grounds and international experience in social science integration. In this chapter, some issues are mentioned: Several viewpoints and theories of international integration; Particularities and differences in social science integration; Experience in social science integration from East Asian countries; Social science integration in China.
Chapter 2: Practical integration of social sciences in Vietnam in 25 years of Doi moi: Major activities, challenges and achievements. In this chapter, some issues are presented: Development and international integration of Vietnam’s social sciences; Outstanding achievements of social sciences in Vietnam for the past 25 years of Doi moi; Challenges and shortcomings of social sciences in Vietnam.
Chapter 3: Viewpoints, orientation and some measures to accelerate international integration of social sciences in Vietnam for the period 2011 – 2020. In this chapter, following issues are described: Development and integration tasks of Vietnam’s social sciences for 2011 – 2020; Viewpoints and basic orientations to accelerate international integration of social sciences for the next 10 years; Solutions and basic measures to accelerate international integration of social sciences in Vietnam for the period 2011 – 2020.
