Vice President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences – Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Nhat Quang met Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences

Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Nhat Quang, Vice President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) met the delegation of Yunnan Academy of Social Sciences (YASS) led by Mr. Zhang RuiCai, President of YASS on their first business trip to VASS at the head office of VASS at No. 1, Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi, Vietnam on the 12 February 2017.

Together with the Vice President of VASS, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tai Dong, Director of the Institute of Philosophy; MA. Van Thi Thanh Binh, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department; Prof. Dr. Do Tien Sam, Senior Expert of the Institute of Chinese Studies; Dr. Nguyen Thi Phuong Hoa, Deputy Editor of Chinese Studies Review.

To team up with Mr. Zhang RuiCai, President of YASS, there were members of YASS including Mr. Ly BaoXin, President of Hong He Zhou Social Science Association; Mr. Ly WeiJin, President of Wen Shan Zhou Social Science Association; Mr. Zhang JuCheng, Prof. in Department of History, Yunnan University; Ms. Wang HaiYun, Prof. in Faculty of Social Sciences, Kunming University of Science and Technology.  

In the meeting, on behalf of leaders of VASS, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Nhat Quang greeted the delegation in their business trip to VASS. The Vice President briefly introduced to the delegation missions, functions and organizational structure of VASS and emphasized that VASS was a scientific research agency of the Vietnamese government, and directly participated in the process of building guidelines and policies of Vietnam Communist Party and the government.   

In response to the Vice President of VASS, Mr. Zhang RuiCai, expressed his pleasure and gratitude for the welcome of VASS and introduced main functions of YASS; his desire to receive sharing and useful information, experience in building Marxism – Leninism; theory, socialist model; in exploring the process of building socialism after Doi Moi in Vietnam; issues related to building and rectifying Communist Party (promoting democracy within the Party, strengthening Party’s members’s belief…) through in-depth analysis of the theory and reality of each country.

Through this meeting, YASS proposed new opportunities for cooperation between VASS and research institutes under YASS, thus provided multilateral and bilateral research results; collaborative expansion of humanities and social sciences in Southeast Asia and South Asia; academic and scholar exchanges at Yunnan University and Kunming University of Science and Technology.

Concluding the meeting, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Bui Nhat Quang suggested that based on the issues discussed in the meeting, VASS would implement a specific cooperation plan and roadmap with YASS and contribute to strengthen cooperation in theoretical research as well as scholar exchanges between the two sides in the future./.
