The Conference “Religious Studies in Vietnam: present and prospects” was held at 27 Tran Xuan Soan, Hanoi by the Institute for Religious Studies (IRS) on 25 November 2016 to evaluate and summarize its achievements in 25 years. The conference also sought to assess both religious studies' achievements and limitations so as to map out next stages.

For two days from October 31 to November 1, 2016, in Pleiku City, Gia Lai province, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) in cooperation with the People’ committee of Gia Lai held an international symposium “Palaeolith in Vietnam in the regional context”.

The international conference “European Studies in Southeast Asia: Outstanding Issues” was held by Institute for European Studies under Vietnam Academy of Social Science (VASS) on the 4th November 2016 in 3A conference hall, at the head office No. 1, Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi, Vietnam. The conference was an initiative by the Institute for European Studies and Gadjah Mada University while implementing the international project “The project Integration in Southeast Asia: Trajectories of Inclusion, Dynamics of Exclusion” (SEATIDE, 2012-2016: www.seatide.eu).

The fifth annual international workshop on social sciences - “ Human resources development in social sciences in the context of global integration in Laos, Vietnam and Cambodia” was held in Vientiane, Laos on 19 October 2016. This international workshop is held alternately among three Academies of the three countries namely Vietnam, Laos and Cambodia.
