On the occasion of the official visit of The United States President Barack Obama to Vietnam in May 2016, A scientific conference on “The comprehensive partnership between Vietnam and The United States: achievements and challenges” was organised in 3D conference hall, at the head office No. 1, Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi by Institute of American Studies, under Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in the partnership with Embassy of The United States in Vietnam in the morning on May 12, 2016. This conference aimed to promote the cooperation process between Vietnam and The United States (the US) in near future.

In order to celebrate the 05 year anniversary of Research Center for Imperial Citadel’s establishment (28/04/2011- 28/04/2016) and the archievements of study on Ly - Tran period archiectural forms, President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) agreed to Research Center for Imperial Citadel (RCIC) copporated with Japanese Research Team organizing International scientific seminar “Identifying Vietnam architecture from Ly - Tran dynasties through historical - archaeological materials”. This is an academic content of Project “Classification, research, evaluation of value and building up the scientific documents for the Thăng Long Imperial Citadel site”.

On the morning of March 4th 2016, at No.27 Tran Xuan Soan, Institute of State and Law under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) held a scientific conference with a subject of "State and law in the context of promoting development of legitimate State, market economy and international integration", which aims to identify, choose urgent and proper issues in need of immediate and long-term research in terms of legal theoretics and practices in continuously promoting building legitimate State, development of market economy and international integration for jurisprudence in general and Institute of State and Law in particular.

As a part of the collaboration program, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) has worked with UNSECO (Hanoi), University of Lucerne and the international research network of Switzerland to organize an international workshop on “Community Participation and Rights – based Approaches in World Heritage” at the Head Office of VASS.
