As a part of framework between Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) and World Bank (WB), VASS and WB organized a round – table discussion on the summary report of Vietnam 2035 in August 24th and 31st at the Head Office (no 1A, Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi).

Pursuant to the Decision No.506/QĐ-TTg dated April 17th, 2015 adopted by Prime Minister regarding the Planning for events and activities commemorating 70 years of August Revolution (19/8/1945 - 19/8/2015) and National Day (02/9/1945 - 02/9/2015), a national seminar was held in International Conference Center (Hanoi) on August 24th. Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) has worked with Commission for Popularization and Education and Hanoi Municipal Party Committee to organize the national seminar regarding “70 years of August Revolution and National Day of Socialist Republic of Vietnam in the renewals, integration and development (1945 - 2015)”.

Institute of Central Highland Social Sciences held the scientific workshop on “Network of social scientists on Central Highland studies in Buon Ma Thuat (Dak Lak) in 21st and 22nd of August, 2015.

The international scientific conference on “The Linguistic of Vietnam - 30 years of Renovation and Development” has held the official opening ceremony at the head office of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (Lieu Giai, Hanoi) after the preparation of Institute of Linguistic Studies in long time. This is the 2nd international conference on linguistic studies after the first one which was held 2 years ago. There was an event to start up the conference in April 2015.

On August 8th, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences has worked with Ha Tinh Community of People to hold a conference commemorating the 250th birth anniversary of Nguyen Du on Legacy and Historical Importance. This is an activity to memorizing 108 world’s cultural personalities including Nguyen Du based on the approval of the Resolution No. 37C/15 in the 37th meetings of UNESCO in Paris in October 25th 2013. It is also the implementation of the documentary no. 8467-CV/VPTW in August 15th 2014 on commemorating the 250th birth anniversary of Nguyen Du – Great National Poet and World’s Cultural Personality at national level as a statement for the meanings of his legacy and historical importance.
