On December 19th 2014, at the head office No. 1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) and the Embassy of Japan in Vietnam co-organized international seminar on “Japan’s security policy in Asia-Pacific and the cooperation between Vietnam and Japan” for exchange of information and raising understanding of strategic partnership. The seminar attracted participation of scientists of specific research institutes of VASS and many diplomatists, researchers of Embassy of Japan in Vietnam. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of VASS and Mr. Fukada Hiroshi, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam, co-chaired the Seminar.

In the morning on December 10th 2014, at the head office No.1A, Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Institute for Northeast Asian Studies organized a scientific seminar on a subject of “Issues of theory, methodology and research method about ensuring human security in the context of globalization and international integration” with participation of Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Duy Duc, chairman of Programme KX 03/11-15, many representatives from specific research institutes of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Institute for social security and integrated development studies, Institute of Culture and Development (National Academy of Politics), Vietnam National University, Hanoi, ect.

In the morning on December 12th 2014 in conference hall 3E, at the head office No.1A, Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Vietnam Institute for India and Southwest Asian Studies (VIISAS), Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences coordinated with International Center for Cultural Studies (ICCS), New Delhi, India to organize a scientific seminar on: "Some aspects of Indian culture" presented by Prof. Amarjiva Lochan, Secretary, International Center for Cultural Studies.

On December 12th 2014, in conference hall 3D, at the head office No.1A Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Institute of Anthropology organized a Seminar on Announcement of Anthropology 2014 with a subject of “Ethnic studies in Vietnam (1980-2014): Common issues and ethnic minorities of language groups of Hmong (Mong) – Dao (Yao), Han (Chinese) – Tang and Malayo-Polynesian.” The seminar attracted presence of nearly 100 representatives who are researchers and lecturers in anthropology/ethnology from many universities in Hanoi, research units directly under Vietnam Academic of Social Sciences and other research units, and a lot of officials of Institute of Anthropology.

On December 05th 2014, at head office No.27 Tran Xuan Soan, Hanoi, Institute of Cultural Studies (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) organized seminar on Announcement of Culture 2014, with participation of many researchers, collectors, administrators and lecturers nationwide.
