Following the direction of the President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Institute of Regional Sustainable Development in collaboration with Graduate Academy of Social Sciences organized an international conference with the theme: “Risk management and sustainable urban development”.
The conference is a forum for scientists, managers, researchers and policy makers and practitioners to care, share and discuss theoretical and practical issues on risk management and risk management, sustainable urban development, discuss findings, scientific research results on climate change issues, reduce risks for sustainable development in urban areas of Vietnam; Sharing international experiences on sustainable urban development from which to propose some solutions to reduce risks for sustainable development in urban areas of Vietnam.
The Conference Organizing Committee would like to invite scientists and practitioners to write articles and attend the Conference. Quality articles submitted to the Conference Organizing Committee will be edited for publication in the Conference Proceedings and published with the ISBN index.

- The aspect of “disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation” revolves around the main themes:
+ Models/best practices in disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation in different countries;
+ Manifestations and impacts of natural disasters and climate change on sustainable development in the world and in Vietnam;
+ National policies, strategies, programs and plans for climate change adaptation and disaster risk reduction;
+ The role of state management in disaster risk management and sustainable development in Vietnam today;
+ Solutions to minimize the impacts of natural disasters and climate change on the sustainable development of Vietnam…
- The aspect of “sustainable urban development in the context of economic, social and environmental shocks” revolves around the following main themes:
+ Issues about sustainable urban development in terms of economic, social and environmental aspects
+ Models, practical experiences and trends of sustainable urban development in the world and in Vietnam;
+ International and domestic lessons and experiences on sustainable urban development;
+ Ability to cooperate and support local, mobilize stakeholders in the formulation and implementation of sustainable urban development plans in Vietnam.
+ Proposing some solutions to reduce risks for sustainable development in urban areas of Vietnam.
+ Solutions to develop and better implement a sustainable urban development plan in Vietnam.
The planned plan is as follows:
• Time to receive registration for article topics: before July 30, 2021.
• Time to receive full-text report: before August 15, 2021.
• The workshop is scheduled to be held on October 6, 2021 in Hanoi.
