Call fof papers International scientific conference “Human Development and New Human Resources fof VietNam’s Net Zero emission goal”

Under the Paris Agreement (2015), 197 countries have committed to sustainable development goals to limit the global average temperature increase to 1.50C above pre-industrial levels in order to avoid the most severe impacts of climate change. At the 2021 United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP26), 147 countries pledged to develop and implement measures to reduce greenhouse gas emissions to achieve net zero emissions (Net Zero). At this conference, with many other countries around the world, Scotland, United Kingdom and Vietnam expressed strong commitment to achieve “Net Zero” by 2050. Accordingly, the concept of “Net Zero” has been adopted by many countries and has been the common view for the development process. Many experts state that there are requirement of principal conditions, including human and human resources for the Net Zero goal.

Thus, in order to achieve the goal of “Net Zero”, Vietnam needs to be prepared in many aspects, in which, new human resources shall be considered as a pillar factor. The Institute of Human Studies under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, in cooperation with a local partner - Green Innovation Joint Stock Company (GREEN IN) and other international partners, will organize an international scientific conference on the topic of " Human development and new human resources for Vietnam’s Net Zero emission goal ".

The Organizing Committee would like to call for papers from scientists managers, lecturers and environmental activists with the following information:

MAIN CONTENT:

  • New jobs and human resources in the context of Net Zero goals;
  • Net Zero associated with human development: developing human capital, reducing poverty, and reducing the risk of people living in a polluted and unsustainable energy sources environment;
  • The role of the States, organizations and individuals in achieving Net Zero goals in terms of human development and new human resources;
  • Development of economic models (economy of people, sustainable economy, green economy, inclusive growth...) in association with Net Zero goals: international experience and lesson for Vietnam;
  • Net emissions harmonized with economic, social, cultural and human development: challenges for Vietnam and other countries in the region and the whole world;
  • The Covid-19 pandemic and new problems pose for Net Zero emissions and issues of developing new human resources to achieve Net Zero goals.

SUBMISSION GUIDELINE:

  • Deadline for registration and abstract (with keywords) submission: July 25, 2022
  • Deadline for full paper submission: August 15, 2022
  • Paper format: presented on A4-size paper, font size: 13, font: Times New Roman, lines spacing: 1.5, length: 10 pages or more.
  • Language: English & Vietnamese (Title, abstract and keywords must be in English)

TIME AND VENUE OF THE COFERENCE: August, 2022 in Hanoi
