The workshop on “Theoretical and practical backgrounds for the model of social development and the management of social development” was held at the Institute of Southeast Asian Studies (under Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) on 3 October 2013. This was one among the academic activities of the project “Social development and the management of social development in the Southeast Asian countries – the lesson for Vietnam to involve in building the ASEAN Community” led by Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Duy Dung, which was a component of the State-level research program no. KX.02/11-15 named “Research on social development and the management of social development in Vietnam until 2020” with Assoc.Prof.Dr. Tran Duc Cuong as the program manager.

Within the framework of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP), the Economic Committee of National Assembly (ECNA) in collaboration with Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) and Vietnam Chamber of Commerce and Industry (VCCI) organized the Autumn Economic Forum 2013 on “Vietnam’s Economy in 2013 and Prospects for 2014: Implementing Three Strategic Breakthroughs” on 26-27 September 2013 in Hue City.

The Institute of Archaeology, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), held the 48th Conference of Archaeological Announcements on 26-27 September 2013 at the head office of VASS, no. 1 Lieu Giai street, Ba Dinh district, Hanoi.

The Conference on “Social welfare: Japan’s experience and suggestions to Vietnam” was held by Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) on 24 September 2013.

In collaboration with the People’s Committee of Lam Dong province, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) held the workshop on “Green growth – Model for sustainable development of Dalat city” on 21 September 2013 in Dalat, Lam Dong province.
