For many years, VASS has been collaborating with the UNDP to implement policy advocacy research studies, especially related to enhancing the capacity to design human development policies in Vietnam, and to publish the Vietnam Human Development Reports. VASS has also been a trustworthy partner of the World Bank in Vietnam in research and policy consultation activities; especially recently the two organizations completed the report “Vietnam 2035: Toward Prosperity, Creativity, Equity and Democracy”. Since 2014, VASS has worked closely with the Agence universitaire de la Francophonie (AUF) (Francophone University Association) to strengthen research capacities in the social sciences and humanities. This effort includes the establishment of two digital campuses (Campus Numérique Francophone partenaire - CNFp) in Hanoi and Ho Chi Minh City.
VASS always puts its utmost effort into executing cooperative activities with international partners based on the principles of combining research with policy consultation and using interdisciplinary and multidisciplinary approaches. Achievements in international cooperation have contributed considerably to VASS’s successes. As a result of this collaborative work VASS actively continues to integrate more deeply and effectively with the international academic world. In doing so, it moves toward becoming a successful regional academic institution in the social sciences and humanities, especially bringing some key disciplines closer to achieving regional and international standards.
