On 3rd and 4th of September 2013, at Vietnam Academy of Social Science’s head office in Hanoi, the international conference “Vietnam-Japan Relations: 40 Years to Look Back and Future Directions” was held jointly by VASS, Shenshu University and Japanese Foundation.

On 11th of August 2013, in Da Nang city, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) held a conference on “Discussing the Outline of the Mid-term Progress Report on Implementation of the Socio-Economic Development Plan for 2011-2012 and the 2014 Vietnam Human Development Report Outline”. The seminar is a part of a series of activities under the project “Capacity building for human development policy” carried out by VASS and funded by UNDP.

On 9th August 2013, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) held the scientific conference “Theoretical and Practical Basis of Cross-border Cooperation and the Role of the Central Highlands within the Vietnam-Lao-Cambodia Development Triangle”. The conference was one of the activities carried out under the State-level project “Central Highlands in cross-border socio-economic developemt cooperation within the Vietnam-Lao-Cambodia Development Traingle”, under the Central Highlands Program 3, the project led by Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan, Vice President of VASS.

Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) organized a roundtable discussion on 3 August 2013 for “The outline of mid-term review and assessment of socio-economic development in 2011-2013”.

On July 5th, 2013, in Vinh city of Nghe An province, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) in collaboration with Nghe An People’s Committee held a national conference on “Cultural and Natural Heritage in the North-Central Region: Preservation and Promotion.”
