To team up with the President of VASS, there were Assoc. Prof. Dr. Cu Chi Loi, Director of the Vietnam Institute of American Studies (VIAS); Dr. Nguyen Xuan Cuong, Director of the Institute of Chinese Studies; MA. Van Thi Thanh Binh, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department.
Together with the attendance of Prof. Shin Jung-seung, there were Mr. Jang Won, Political Counselor, Korean Embassy in Vietnam.
In the meeting, representing as the head of VASS, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan, the President greeted the delegation in their business trip to VASS. The President briefly introduced to the delegation organizational structure, missions and main functions of VASS, and emphasized that VASS was a scientific research body under the Government which directly joined in the process of building guidelines and policies of the Communist Party and the government.
In response to the President of VASS, Prof. Shin Jung-seung briefly introduced the history of his work and the functions of the Centre for Chinese Studies at Dongseo University to Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan and the delegations.
Through the meeting, Prof. Shin Jung-seung understood that VASS was the leading research institution in social sciences in Vietnam and the consultative body of the Communist Party and the Government, which played an essential role in research and consulting policies in socio-economic development in Vietnam. The two sides exchanged and discussed the topics of mutual interest. At the end of the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan would like to thank Prof. Shin Jung-seung and hoped that there would be more meetings and exchanges between VASS and the Centre for Chinese Studies, which contributed to the development of the cooperation relationship between the two sides in the future.
