Graduation Ceremony of Vietnamese Training Course for Korean

On August 6th 2015 at the head office No. 1B Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Centre of Language teaching and dissemination (Centre), Institute of Linguistics (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) cooperated with Vietnam EZ education JSC to hold the graduation ceremony of the 5th Vietnamese training course for those who are Korean volunteers from the Korea International Cooperation Agency (KOICA).

The ceremony had the participation of Dr. Mai Xuan Huy - Deputy Director of Institute of Linguistics, Mrs. Kim Gyung Ah – Vice Representative of KOICA in Vietnam, Mr. Son Chang Yong – Manager of KOIKA Saemaul Program in Vietnam, Mr. Nguyen Duc Hiep – Project Coordinator of Volunteer Program and KOIKA’s volunteers, Mrs. Vu Thi Lan Anh – Director of Vietnam EZ education JSC, and lecturers as well as 14 students of the training course.

Having speech at the ceremony, Dr. Mai Xuan Huy delivered the congratulation 14 students for their great results on learning after one month. With the effort of both lecturers and students together with the combination between theory and practice, students are now able to have basic communication with topics on career, family, transportation, health so on.

Students also had chances to understand Vietnamese culture and people through extracurricular activities when visiting Ho Chi Minh Mausoleum, Temple of Literature, Hochiminh Museum, and Vietnam Museum of Ethnology. Especially, they also came to see and communicate with kids in Long Bien fishing village, Phuc Tue center which is a part of Vietnam Relief Association For Handicapped Children as well as site visits in Thai Nguyen and Ninh Thuan.

Also, students joined in cooking course for daily meals of Vietnamese and Korean people. Dr. Mai Xuan Huy hopes that students will have many happy, good and confident days during the time living in Vietnam with these knowledge.  

Mrs. Kim Gyung Ah also stated that the training course was a vital and essential program which has contribution to prepare the basic knowledge of language and culture before volunteers join in any programs in Vietnam. She expected students will successfully complete their missions in provinces. 

Sharing the feelings during the term time, students showed that they have had special and warm feelings which help them less missing hometown and family even this is the first time they came to Vietnam for volunteer activities.

Dr. Mai Xuan Huy has awarded certifications and presents for students. After the training course, 14 volunteers will go to Thai Nguyen and Ninh Thuan for their volunteer schedules arranged by KOICA in Vietnam./.
