The book in which Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Duy Dung is the chief editor, is formed on the basis of the independent theme at the State level “Some issues on development and socioeconomic development management in Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia Development triangle”.

The development triangle is now an area including 13 provinces with total area of 144.3 thousand square kilometers, population of over 6.5 million people, occupying 19.3% of the area and 6.1% of the population of three countries Vietnam - Laos - Cambodia. In spite of rich potentials, most of the provinces in the Development triangle are very poor and backward localities. Low starting point together with difficulty in infrastructure and society are great obstacles for awakening and exploiting strength of the Development triangle. Over the past ten years, the Development triangle has gained noteworthy changes from the perception of leaders of the countries and localities to actual results in many fields of this area. This has proven the common cooperation efforts among three countries, provinces and the world.

From various aspects, approaches, the authors analyzed and clarified the actual development and development management of the Development triangle as well as focusing on some specific contents such as population, labor, employment and border gate management. With new and diversified approach from economy, politics to culture and environment, many contents related to sustainable development of the community in general and the Development triangle and the Central Highland in particular have been interpreted more profoundly, thereby putting forth suggestions on the orientation, plan as well as specific solutions to develop this land.
