In the condition of development of market economy, resolution of jobs for labours in general, and the youth and young labours in particular is one of important policy directions to each nation, specially to developing countries with such large workforce as Vietnam.
The book of "Economic Downturns and Challenges for Youth's Jobs Creation nowadays” is the continue and the deeper in labour-employment area that The Social Report 2012 mentioned; as well as a study on development of The Social Report 2013 conducted by Institute of Sociology (Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences). The book consists of four chapters with following major contents:
Chapter I – Theoretical foundation of jobs and resolution of jobs for the youth – making clear on some theoretical issues of jobs and resolution of jobs for the youth, in which it concentrates on analysis of theoretically basic concepts, mentions characters of the youth and jobs for the youth, points out influential factors on resolution of jobs for young labours as well as meanings of programmes and policies of resolution of jobs.
Chapter II – Social-economic situation, economic recession and impact on jobs for the youth – examining the context of social-economy, making clear on impact of economic recession on situation of employment and unemployment during 2013 in the world and in the country. Major social-economic events during 2013 are generalized, become foundations for analysis of challenges of employment and resolution of jobs for the youth in last years. Once that these issues and limitations are resolved it will contribute to enhancement of opportunity and resolution of jobs for the youth.
Chapter III – Employment challenges and resolution of jobs for the youth nowadays– analysis of actual employment situation and resolution of jobs for the youth in 2013, in which prominent issues of employment and resolution of jobs for the youth are deeply examined. That the youth hardly seek jobs and are unemployment among those who graduated in 2013 is deeply analyzed, thence making it visible to that consequences and “tremor” about employment might continue in next years. Programmes, policies of employment resolution also are examined in this chapter from an angle of providing jobs.
Chapter IV – Viewpoints, direction and solutions of jobs for the youth in the next years – presenting viewpoints, objectives and direction, solutions of overcoming difficulties for resolution of jobs for the youth in the period of 2015 - 2020, with vision forward 2030, as well as providing practical recommendations for employment resolution in relations to economic development, enhancement of income for the youth, macro stability and assurance of social security.
In 124 pages, with scientifically short presentation, the book is a rich and useful information source for administrators, policy-makers, scientists, lecturers, learners as well as people concerning issue of employment and the youth in Vietnam.
