Since establishing diplomatic relations between Vietnam and Korea on December 22, 1992, the two sides have upgraded their relations twice to "comprehensive cooperative partnership in the 21st century" in 2001; "strategic cooperation partnership" in 2009. In order to strengthen the strategic partnership of the two countries in the coming time, towards a comprehensive strategic partnership, the delegates had lively exchanges and made many meaningful proposals and recommendations. Not only in bilateral diplomatic relations, in economic, cultural and social cooperation, but also in the field of security and defense. In particular, the recommendations focused on how to substantively strengthen the comprehensive strategic partnership, share information, enhance mutual understanding and strengthen strategic trust; promote cooperation between the two countries within the framework of multilateral and international mechanisms such as ASEAN-Korea, Mekong-Korea, ARF, APEC...as well as in participating in global initiatives on climate change, pandemic prevention, increase cooperation opportunities in important fields such as digital economy, health, education, training, culture... In addition, there are a number of recommendations focusing on environmental creation, more favorable for businesses of the two countries to trade and invest, especially in the fields of innovation, new materials, semiconductors, ensuring the sustainability of production and supply chains, exploiting results of the Vietnam-Korea Free Trade Agreement.

The Forum for the Future Vietnam-Korea is an important channel for dialogue between policy makers, policy practitioners, experts and scholars from Vietnam and Korea.
