Through the Dialogue, the parties discussed many issues related to the response, development prospects and strategic priorities to recover the economy after the Covid-19 pandemic (Pandemic).

The pandemic has been and continues to claim the lives and livelihoods of many people, countries and territories, erasing the achievements of decades of development in many countries, including Italy and countries in the region. ASEAN region, causing major economic crisis on a large scale on all continents. Delegates said that this is the time for countries to have collective responses, promote and uphold the role of international cooperation in responding to the pandemic, and find effective solutions to revive the economy.

In fact, ASEAN is the region outside China that detected the earliest cases in January 2020. As of the fourth quarter of 2021, the epidemic situation in the region is still very complicated, seriously affecting security, politics, economy and society. In order to cope with the adverse effects of the Pandemic, in addition to measures to limit the spread such as implementing social distancing, deploying universal vaccination, many countries in the region have implemented easing policies. monetary policy, many economic stimulus packages, and relief packages are estimated to have reached USD 730 billion, equivalent to 7.8% of the total GDP of the region.

Most notably, ASEAN countries have agreed to come up with an ASEAN Overall Economic Recovery Framework (ACRF). As of June 2021, ASEAN countries have implemented 28 Covid-19 response initiatives, are implementing 68 initiatives and considering implementing 73 other initiatives. On the other hand, ASEAN also issued a Declaration on moving towards the establishment of the ASEAN Travel Corridor to facilitate travel within the association, ensuring compliance with regional and individual health regulations. pellets.
