VASS President Bui Nhat Quang welcomed and signed MOU with Dong-A University delegation, Busan, South Korea


In the afternoon of November 12, 2019, at 3D Hall, headquarters 1A, Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) - Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Nhat Quang, the alternate member of the Party Central Committee, had a meeting and signed the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the delegation of Dong-A University, Busan, South Korea.

Welcoming the delegation with the VASS President, there were Prof.Dr. Dang Nguyen Anh, Vice President of the VASS; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Pham Quy Long, Vice Director - General of Institute for Northeast Asian Studies (INAS); Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nguyen Duc Vinh, Director of the Institute of Sociology); Dr. Bui Ngoc Quang, Deputy Head of Science Management Board, VASS; Ms. Van Thi Thanh Binh, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department; and Ms. Vo Thuy Duong, Interpreter.

On the side of Dong - A University delegation, there were Prof.Dr. Suk Jung Han, President of Dong - A University, Busan, South Korea (Head of delegation); Dr. Kyuhong Hwang, Head of Public Relations Department; Dr. Sangjin Lee, Head of Planning and Management Department Campus Construction; Dr. Yeong Hyeon Hwang, Head of International Relations Department and Mr. Brian Kay, Coordinator, Department of International Relations, Dong-A University.

Established in 1946, Dong-A University is the most prestigious private university located in the heart of Busan, Korea's second-largest city. Busan is known as a tourist city with many breathtaking landscapes, a beautiful long coastline, an ideal place to relax and travel. Dong-A University is famous for its humanities and social sciences, which is also the foundation for the development of the university to this day.

The university has also been promoting international cooperation to bring the image of a dynamic and developing university to many prospective foreign students. Up to now, the university has trained about 180,000 talented students and currently has more than 20,000 students attending training units directly under the school.

Through the exchanges related to the development situation of Vietnam and VASS, the information on the development situation of Korea and Dong-A University, the two sides discussed in depth the directions to promote cooperation and academic exchange on social sciences between the two institutes in the coming time. Especially the issue of training and developing high human resources for humanities and social sciences between the two sides.

At the end of the meeting, the two sides signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to further strengthened the cooperative relations on mutual interest. Thereby, contributing to developing the relationship between the VASS and Dong-A University to a new level in the direction of quality - efficiency.
