On July 4, 2023, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) in collaboration with the National Research Council for Economics, Social Sciences and Humanities of Korea (NRC) organized a Workshop on the topic : Vietnam - Korea: Strengthening common understanding of cultural policy. The conference takes place in both formats: Live in Seoul, South Korea, and Webinar online via the Zoom platform.

On the afternoon of June 5, 2023, at the head office at No. 1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Dr. Dang Xuan Thanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) received Mr. Eduardo Paes Saboia, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Brazil, to pay a courtesy visit. The reception was honored to welcome Mr. Marco Farani, Ambassador of Brazil to Vietnam.

Celebrating Africa Day 2023, on the afternoon of May 24, 2023, at Hall 1B, 176 Thai Ha, Dong Da, Hanoi, Institute of African and Middle Eastern Studies (under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) cooperated with a group of Ambassadors of African countries in Vietnam to organize an international seminar "Promoting the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA): Opportunities and Challenges for Vietnam". The workshop had the participation of Vietnamese, African and international researchers, entrepreneurs and policy makers.

On the afternoon of May 25, 2023, at the head office at No. 1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Dr. Dang Xuan Thanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) received a delegation from the Institute of Social Sciences of Yunnan Province led by Mr. Shen Huong Hung, Vice President of the Institute of Social Sciences of Yunnan Province , a researcher at the China Institute of Southeast Asian and South Asian Studies (Kunming).
