In the opening speech, Prof. Dr. Le Hong Ly affirmed that the Conference is an annual activity and a scientific forum for cultural researchers, collectors, lecturers and administrators of research institutes, universities and committees, commission nationwide. The Conference 2015 has received more interest with the larger number of writing papers in which the research scope is not only expanded but also diversified and practical. Together with the traditional dimensions of research, the Institute of Cultural Studies also focused on two major research dimensions which are shown in the topic system at grassroots level as followed: (1) Review the existence of traditional culture in modern society; (2) The practice of modern culture and the appearance of new cultural phenomenon such as Mother worship, lifestyle of youth, movies, social networks, the recovery of traditional culture in modern society, cultural community so on. The Institute of Cultural Studies is implementing the research on evaluation of cultural intangible heritages which are recognized by UNESCO as well as doing researches on the progress of urbanization under the cultural aspect, therefore to clearly define the cultural training pathway and international collaboration.
Among hundreds of writing papers, the Conference has selected 83 ones which are divided into 6 major contents as followed: (1) General issues (24 papers); (2) Art (15 papers); (3) Knowledge – Culture of ethnic minorities (8 papers); (4) Belief (13 papers); (5) Literature (12 papers (6) Culture of Villages (11 papers). The number and quality of writing papers showed the growth of cultural and its important role in all fields of social life with the high attraction for researchers, especially young ones. In previous News of culture, a number of ideas from cultural announcements were developed into scientific research projects. As a result, the cultural research is enlarged into multi – dimensional ways, especially values of folk culture are highly appreciated in modern society.
The Conference has received many discussions and concerns of representatives. Their opinions will be the suggestion of new research directions which will be multi – dimensional, cross – industry based on the foundation of traditional research and they would be the contribution to the conservation and development of national cultural values.
