Speaking at the opening workshop, Comrade Vo Van Thuong warmly welcomed the large presence of delegates, scientists. He affirmed the great historical value and significance of the Russian October Revolution which influenced on the process of advocacy and development of real socialism and the International Workers' Movement in one last century as well as he stressed the significance and effect of Russian October Revolution on the renewal process in Vietnam contributing to the building of the Party's guidelines in the current period.

In the workshop report, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang reaffirmed the historical value and the meaning of the Russian October Revolution, marking a great turning point in the evolution of human history. He affirmed that every October Russian Revolution was not only one time we expressed our gratitude to the people of the Soviet Union and the great V.L.LeNin leader but also for our recognition, deeper about the past, present and future of socialism in the world; the value and vitality of Marxism-Leninism and the practical application of Marxism-Leninism in the process of socialist construction; about the advantages and disadvantages, the opportunities and challenges, the lessons of history from successes and mistakes, failure,on the target, the socialist path and the future of socialism in Vietnam ... Therefore, in the framework of this workshop, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang expressed his wishes for the scientists and delegates to focus on, discuss and deepen some basic contents as follows:
First: the value of the age, the meaning of opening and enlightening spirit of the last century of Russian October Revolution;
Second: about social realism in the world: achievements, limitations, causes, opportunities, challenges and prospects.
Third: patiently, faithfully, apply, develop Marxist-Leninist revolutionaryism in the process of socialist revolution and socialist construction in the world in a century;
Fourth: about the challenges, opportunities and prospects of socialism in Vietnam today from the light of the Russian October Revolution and the historical lesson of real socialism in the world in the last century.

The workshop received nearly 60 reports; There were 5 presentations on topics such as: Perception mistakes and the collapse of the Soviet model - Causes and lessons for Vietnam by Prof. Dr. Ta Ngoc Tan, former Member of the Central Committee of the Party, former director of Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy, Vice Chairman of the Central Theoretical Council; October Revolution and socialist ideology in today's era - Prof. Le Huu Nghia, former member of the Central Committee of the Party, former director of Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy; "Peace process" - an "inhumane" scenario, lessons learned "- Major General, Assoc. Nguyen Ba Duong, Member of the Central Theoretical Council, Director of the Military Academy of Humanities and Social Sciences, Ministry of Defense; Socialist democracy for a century and meaning for Vietnam - Assoc. Do Thi Thach and Dr. Nguyen Tuan Anh, Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy; Addressing the relationship between popularity and specific in the construction of socialism and meaning for Vietnam today - Prof.Dr. Tran Van Phong, Ho Chi Minh National Political Academy. Participants also heard ideas of the former Deputy Prime Vu Khoan . Despite the different comments, managers and scientists estimated the meaning of history , age of the Russian October Revolution, the effects of the Revolution on real socialism and the movement of world workers; at the same time, objective scientific evaluation of the achievements and limitations of real socialism starting from the October Revolution; Indicates the objective and subjective cause of the sluggish, the crisis that led to the collapse of Soviet socialism. Since then, scientists have recognized the significance of the October Revolution to the Vietnamese Revolution and the direction for the cause of reforming the socialist Vietnam. In particular, through seminars, leaders, administrators, and scientists also pointed to the use of lessons learned from the Russian October Revolution, applied in the current practice of building and rectifying the Party.
In summary, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang once again affirmed that socialism is the goal, inspiration of the human future; October Revolution will remain forever in the hearts of people loving peace in the world. Thereby, he emphasized the propaganda of historical value, the meaning of the Russian October Revolution; at the same time, supplement and perfect the theory of socialism is the task of those researching sciences.The workshop was a great success, it contributed to provide more ground for theory and policy of the Party and State in many important issues of the country base on the light of Russian october revolution and the target, the socialist ideal. At the same time, the workshop has also contributed to create scientific trust for managers and scientists to implement the recent Central resolutions better.
