On the Institute of African Studies and Middle East (IAMES) side , there are Assoc.Prof.Dr. Le Phuoc Minh - Director of IAMES; Assoc. Prof. Do Duc Dinh, former IAMES Director; Prof. Nguyen Manh Hung, former Director of IAMES; Dr. Tran Thi Lan Huong - Deputy Editor-in-Chief of IAMES Magazine; Assoc. Prof. Nguyen Thanh Hien, former Editor-in-Chief of IAMES Magazine and IAMES researchers.
The workshop was also honor to be attended by leaders, representatives of the committees and researchers of Viet Nam Academy of Social Sciences and the media.
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Assoc. Prof. Le Phuoc Minh emphasized that "culture and cultural diversity are complex concepts including knowledge, beliefs, art, morality, law, The attitude and behavior have shown the culture, the diversity of culture, beliefs, religions, beliefs and ethics,... closely related to the peace, cooperation and unification of the nation".
Vietnam and Morocco have many similarities that is the diversity, rich in culture and people. This is also one of the reasons for the Embassy of Morocco in Vietnam and the Institute of African and Middle East Studies to hold a workshop on " Cultural diversity in national unity: sharing experiences between Vietnam and Morocco". It can be said that this workshop not only celebrated the 57th anniversary of diplomatic relation between two countries but also strengthen cooperation between the Institute of Africa and the Middle East with the Embassy of Morocco in Vietnam as well as other partners’ Morocco in exchanging information and sharing views on topics related to international relations, foreign policy, regional and global security, economic development, politic and culture….
The workshop was divided into two sessions with a number of succinct and useful presentations on issues related to cultural diversity such as: UNESCO Global Framework and Policy on Cultural Diversity; the role of cultural diversity; Cultural diversity in national unity in Vietnam and Morocco.
After two sessions, scholars, diplomats and delegates discussed and shared their views on cultural diversity in national unity as well as the preservation and promotion of its role in the new global context.
The presentations, exchanges of diplomats’ experiences, scholars have contributed to enhance academic research, exchange information and experiences between Vietnam and Morocco on the multiculturalism as well as strengthen the understanding and cooperation between two countries: Vietnam and Morocco.
