The two parties exchanged information, discussed and agreed on the following cooperation and exchange issues:
Promote collaborative research activities, scientific conferences, and annual exchanges between the two Academies and between their research institutions. Laos to boost the completion of cooperative scientific research being carried out, summing up experiences to improve coordination methods for the higher efficiency of implementing scientific research cooperation between the two parties in the future. Propose the construction of a mechanism for annual scholar exchange on new research topics.
Continue to implement the exchange of information, documentation, papers, journals, publications.
For technical support, Laos to foster the completion of procedures for the Project “Construction of the Library - Documentation Centre and the Office Building of Lao Academy of Social Sciences”.
For staff training support, VASS have agreed in principle that VASS would help LASS in long-term post-graduate staff training as well as in promoting short-term training through collaborative research activities, scientific conferences among specialised research institutes of the two parties.
Foster annual workshop/conference and exchange activities between the two parties; the venue should be locally deployed to enhance ties between the Academies and the localities of the two countries as well as to promote research and development activities. Expand the number of participating staff to develop the cooperation relationship in various disciplines and levels.
Promote research cooperation in themes of Protocol, assigning a group of experts to work closely to effectively deploy the theme of Protocol on "Strengthening the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos in the new context".
