Tran Thị An, the Head of Scientific Management Department; Dr. Nguyen Bui Nam, the Chief Administrator of VASS; MA. Van Thi Thanh Binh, Deputy Head of the International Cooperation Department.
To team up with Mr. Bouasone Bouphavanh, there were Mr. Ousavanh Thiengthepvongsa, the Officer of Laos’s National Economic Research Institute (NERI); Mr. Phetsay Phiathep, Director of Centre for Policy for economic Development and International Integration Studies; Dr. Sthabandith Insisienmay, Director of Centre for Macroeconomic Policy and Adjustment of Economic Structure Studies; Dr. Saykham Voladet, Acting Director of Centre for Sciences and Socio-economic Policy; Mr. Bounthong Kingrattana, Deputy Director of Centre for Training and Information; Mr. Amphaphone Sayasenh, Acting Chief of Department of International Economic Integration Studies, and Dr. Munny Chanthavong, Counsellor of the Embassy of Laos in Vietnam.

In the meeting, representing as the head of VASS, Prof. Dr Nguyen Quang Thuan greeted Mr. Bouasone Bouphavanh and the delegation in their business trip to VASS. The President emphasized that the establishment of NERI was a valuable opportunity for VASS to strengthen and expand the cooperation relationship with Laos in general and with NERI in particular. Thanks to different positions that Mr Bouasone Bouphavanh has held and his experiences, NERI would have significant contributions to consultation, planning guidelines and policies for Laos. The collaborative activities between VASS and NERI were not only sharing experiences, supporting each other in research but also having significantly positive impacts in promoting cooperation between two countries.

In the end of the meeting, the two parties discussed the content of the incoming agreement of cooperation and exchange in scientific research and the construction of joint research projects that were of both parties’ interests.
