The President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences greeted the Indian Ambassador in Vietnam

In the afternoon of March 2nd, 2020, at the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Nhat Quang, President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences had a meeting with Indian Ambassador in Vietnam - Mr. Pranay Verma.

Meeting overview

Accompanying the Ambassador are Mr. Rajesh Uike, Deputy Indian Ambassador in Vietnam; Dr.Chamarthi Viyyanna Sastry, Second Secretary of Consulate, Embassy of India in Vietnam. Joining the delegation with the President is Assoc. Nguyen Xuan Trung, Director of Research Institute of India and Southwest Asia; MSc. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Head of International Cooperation Department; Assoc.Prof.Dr. Nhu Trong Bach, Deputy Chief of the Academy Office.

Opening the meeting, Assoc. Bui Nhat Quang congratulated Mr. Pranay Verma on being appointed Indian Ambassador to Vietnam and warmly welcomed the working to visit the Academy; At the same time, briefly introducing the main functions and tasks that the Academy is carrying out in social sciences and humanities research, as well as other activities related to training and improving quality of human resources and policy advice. Through the cooperation exchanges conducted between the Academy and Indian partners,  President of the Academy expressed his wish to receive the Ambassador's support in potential fields, bilateral exchanges in 2020; expanding relations in scientific research and training  high quality human resources.

In response to Assoc. Prof. Chairman, Ambassador Pranay Verma would like to thank for warmly  welcome of the Academy. He appreciated the Academy as a leading research institute of Vietnam. The Ambassador hoped that the two sides would further promote academic exchanges, organize scientific seminars and exchange of scholars to contribute to the promotion of Vietnam-India bilateral relations. The Ambassador also emphasized that the two sides should make practical contributions to the development of bilateral economic relations, especially in the field of trade and investment, cooperation in  renewable energy and suggested that Vietnam take part in the International Solar Alliance as well as research cooperation on the Indian Ocean - Pacific, contribute to deepening the mutual understanding between the two countries.

In response to the suggestions of Ambassador Pranay Verma, Assoc. Bui Nhat Quang also strongly supported and expressed the willingness of the Academy to cooperate,  which the Indian and Southwest Asian Research Institute is one of the main institutes in Vietnam focusing on researching India  helping cooperation with Indian Embassy in Vietnam.

The meeting ended successfully, promising concrete, practical and effective cooperation activities in the coming time to contribute to further promoting the comprehensive strategic partnership of Vietnam - India in the upcoming time.
