From Korea, there are Mr. Yu Hyun-seok, President of Korea Foundation, MP Park Min Sik, Vice President of Korea (RoK)-Vietnam Friendship Association; MP Do Jong Hwan; Mr. Kim Young Sun, General Secretary of the ASEAN-Korea Centre; Mr. Park Jin, Former Republic of Korea National Assembly member; Mr. Park Suk Hwan, former Minister of Foreign Affairs and Trade. Meanwhile, from Vietnam, there are Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of VASS; Mr. Vu Khoan, former Deputy Prime Minister of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam; Mr. Pham Huu Chi, Vietnam ambassador in Korea; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Kim, Vice Rector of University of Social Sciences and Humanities; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Cuong, Vice President of Vietnam Associate of History and Sciences,ect.
The forum is being organized in three sessions, discussing three topics: Vietnam-RoK relations - economic and foreign affairs co-operation; the Korean Peninsula and regional political situation, and bilateral cultural issues. At the forum, scholars from two countries exchanged their various opinions on strategy which are the mutual interests like: negotiations on the Vietnam-RoK free trade agreement in December 2014, the process of building trust on the Korean Peninsula, Vietnam – RoK relation, the policies for social harmony after the unification of Vietnam, diplomatic and economic cooperation, bilateral social and cultural issues, measures to promote cultural exchange, and the development of Korean wave (Hallyu)…
The forums opened up dialogue opportunities for scholars of the two countries and contribute to strengthening the bilateral relationship and co-operation in the international arena.

Earlier, President Nguyen Xuan Thang met and held talks with leaders of RoK's research and policy advice agencies starting March 15 according to the program of inviting politicians and senior staff by Korean Foundation. Representatives from VASS met Mr. Yun Duk Min, Chancellor of the Korea National Diplomatic Academy; Mr. Choi Jinwook, director of Korea Institute for National Unification; Mr. Kwon Tae-shin, President & CEO, Korean Economic Research Institute to discuss diplomatic and foreign trade policies of RoK; opinions and directions for Korea Unification; business operations of RoK's corporations and the strategy to build a global production chain of RoK's economic groups… Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang also delivered a presentation entitled 'Political and security situation in the region and Vietnam-RoK Relations' at the Asia Research Centre under the Seoul National University.
After the working sessions, President Nguyen Xuan Thang’s group visited Incheon Free Economic Zone to explore and learn more about the experience and policies for building economic zone in Korea. In Incheon, President met and discussed with Mr. Cho Dong Am, deputy commissioner of IFEZ.
Thanks to The 2nd Korea – Vietnam Forum for the Future in Seoul, Korea and meetings at Korean agencies, the business trip of Vietnamese scholars will practically contribute into promoting social sciences cooperation, policies consultant for two countries’ government as well as develop the strategic relation of Vietnam – Korea.
