Scientific Workshop on “Network of social scientists on Central Highland studies”

Institute of Central Highland Social Sciences held the scientific workshop on “Network of social scientists on Central Highland studies in Buon Ma Thuat (Dak Lak) in 21st and 22nd of August, 2015.

Attending and leading the workshop has Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang – a member of Central Communist Party, President of VASS, Mrs. H’Ngăm Niê Kđăm – Deputy Head of Central Highland Steering Committee; Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh – Vice President of the People’s Committee of Dak Lak; Associate Prof. Dr. Pham Van Duc – Vice President of VASS; Dr. Nguyen Duy Thuy – Temporary Director of Institute of Central Highland Social Sciences, scientists and management of research units, universities, government an local offices as well as all members of the Institute of Central Highland Social Sciences.  

After the opening speech of Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang and Mr. Nguyen Hai Ninh, the workshop started with the presentation of 9 reports selected from 50 ones sent to the workshop. All reports and discussion focused on two topics which are the reality of network of social scientists who do researches on Central Highland, and some research results and what does these researches on social sciences of Central Highland need to do in the future. 

    Overview of the Workshop

At the end of the workshop, Associate Prof. Dr. Tran Duc Cuong has listed out some major points as followed: The practical demand on establishing the network of social scientists who are doing researches on Central Highland could be carried out by building an informatics database of research results, holding annual workshops to publish the researches on Central Highland related to social sciences so on. Also, VASS, Central Highland Steering Committee, Institute of Central Highland Social Sciences and local government will be the key connecting points of this network.  In the future, researches on Central Highland should focus on the practical demands and link with the deployment as well as how to apply these research results on supporting the socio – economic growth of Central Highland. With the enthusiasm and serious spirit, the workshop has successfully wrapped up and opened a new direction of collaboration and connection in the researches on Central Highland social sciences.
