Information about the survey and research trip of the High-ranking Research Delegation of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences in Norway, Finland and Sweden

Implementing the comprehensive development research plan and drawing up the National Human Development Report within the framework of the cooperation project between Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) and United Nations Development Program (UNDP), from September, 17 to 26, 2014, the High-ranking Research Delegation of VASS had a survey and research trip in some North European countries.

The delegation met and exchanged opinions with the professors of BI School, Norway

 

The High-ranking Research Delegation of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) led by Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of Vietnam, President of VASS visited some scientific agencies, research councils, universities, met and exchanged opinions with the leading scholars and experts of Norway, Finland and Sweden, such as the Research Council of Norway - RCN); Norwegian Institute for Sociological Research; Research Centre for Equality, Social

Organization and Performance of the Faculty of Economics, University of Oslo, Norwegian Human Rights Center of the Faculty of Law, University of Oslo; Property State Department of the Ministry of Commerce, Industry and Fisheries of Norway; Norwegian Business School (BI); United Nations University-World Institute for Development Economics Research; Finnish Government Institute for Economic Research; Nordic Centre for Welfare and Social issues; Swedish Research Council; The Swedish Institute for Social Research of University of Stockholm...

The delegation worked and took souvenir photos with Mr. Hans Wallmark, Swedish Parliament Member, at the headquarters of Swedish Parliament

 

 

The Delegation discussed the subjects: open, active and effective market economy in the context of international integration, severe competition and restructuring of the global economy; comprehensive social welfare policy but not eliminate the growth conditions; role of the state economic forces and reform of state-owned enterprises; developing the ocean economy based on creativity and technological innovation; face of the world and the region and the relationship between the powers and developing countries; Nordic welfare state model: similarities and differences between the countries in the group; solving the relationship between the social welfare policy and growth motivation; practice and experience in solving the social problems in the development process such as: impact of the financial crisis and economic recession on the welfare states and the developing countries in the implementation of social policy, dropout youth, population aging, issues of primary school pupils, education reform trend in the comprehensive direction... The discussion contents suggested a lot of useful ideas, serving the task of summarizing 30 years of Renovation, building development vision and drawing up the Vietnamese Human Development Report 2014.
