Press Release Official visit of Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yıldırım to the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences 24th August 2017

At the invitation of the Prime Minister of Vietnam, H.E. Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Mr. Binali Yıldırım paid an official visit to the Socialist Republic of Vietnam from 22 – 24 August 2017. According to the visit’s program, on 24 August 2017, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yıldırım visited the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and received the Distinguished Medal of Honour in Social Sciences.

Scientific cooperation between the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and Turkish partners started in 2010 with the signing of Academic Collaboration Agreement between the Institute of Africa and Middle East Studies  and Ankara University. Since then, such cooperative relationship has been gradually broadened and academic exchanges and joint conferences have been organized more frequently with the effective support from the Turkish Embassy in Vietnam and Vietnamese Embassy in Turkey.

The visit of Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yıldırım to the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences will hopefully bring about a new opportunity to upgrade the two countries’ cooperation in social sciences to a higher level, contributing to mutual understanding of the two peoples, liberating the potential of development collaboration between Vietnam and Turkey, further promoting the two sides’ friendship and trust. To recognize the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yıldırım’s special interest in strengthening the social science cooperation between Turkey and Vietnam, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences would like to present the Prime Minister with the Distinguished Medal of Honour in Social Sciences.

On the occasion of visiting the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and attending the award ceremony of Distinguished Medal of Honour in Social Sciences, the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yıldırım highly valued the importance of science and technology and emphasized his expectation for enhancing Vietnam-Turkey collaboration in this field. The Prime Minister believed that the advancement of cooperation between the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and Turkish scientific agencies in the future will contribute positively to the two countries’ joint cooperative endeavors.

The first visit of Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yıldırım to the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences has ended successfully, leaving a good feeling and deep impression on the Academy’s leadership and staff, encouraging not only Vietnamese but also Turkish scientists to continue further collaboration for the development of social sciences and mutual understanding and trust between the two countries and their people./.
