Along with Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım were Mr. Mehemet Simsek and Mr. Recep Akdag, Deputy Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey, and Ministers of Science, Industry and Technology; Ministry of Economy; Ministry of Customs and Trade; representatives of the leadership of the Party of Justice and Development and parliamentarians, officials from different ministries, departments of the Republic of Turkey.
Attending the meeting with Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, are Vice Presidents - Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Nhat Quang, alternate member of the Central Committee of the Party and Prof. Dr. Pham Van Duc; Leader of the Office and functional committee; Editor-in-Chief, Deputy Editor-in-Chief of the Journal of Science and Leaders of Research Institutes, subordinate units, representing over 2000 cadres, civil servants and employees of the Academy
The scientific cooperation between the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences and Turkish partners started in 2010 through the signing of Academic Collaboration Agreement between the Institute of African and Middle East Studies and Ankara University. Since then, such cooperative relationship has been gradually broadened and academic exchanges and joint conferences have been organized more frequently with the effective support from the Turkish Embassy in Vietnam and Vietnamese Embassy in Turkey. In addition, Turkey supports and contributes to the development of human resources and social sciences in Vietnam in general and the Academy in particular.

In a welcome speech, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan expressed his honor and pleasure to welcome Mr. Binali Yıldırım, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey for the first time to visit and work at the Academy. At the same time, Prof. President introduced the structure and function of VASS research and confirmed that VASS is the convergence of the most advanced scientists in social science in Vietnam. In addition, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan appreciates the fine historical and cultural values of Turkey, in which the traditions of various ethnic groups has blended in modern Turkish culture - dynamic, featured, genial, tolerant and humanistic.
On the occasion of the Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım's first visit to Vietnam and VASS, Prof. President expressed his wish that this will be a golden opportunity for the two sides to further strengthen cooperation on all sides, particular attention is paid to the Social Sciences and Humanities, contributing to the strong development of the friendship and trust between the two countries. Thereby, intelligence of Turkey and Vietnam will contribute more positively to the development of each country and the world community.
In recognition of Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım's interest in developing social science cooperation, in a solemn atmosphere, on behalf of the Standing Committee of the Party Committee and the Academic Leader, President of the Academy - Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan has awarded the Medal for the cause of social sciences to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yıldırım.
Speaking at the ceremony, Turkish Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım expressed his joy, honor and emotion when receiving the medal for the cause of social sciences as well as the warm welcome from VASS. Simultaneously, Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım respect the cooperation between Turkey and the Academy in recent years; appreciate the role of science - technology is the foundation of a highly competitive and sustainable economy and it is expected to boost the Vietnam - Turkey cooperation in this area. H.E. Mr. Binali Yıldırım hoped that this visit would create a turning point in the relationship between the two countries; expressing confidence in strengthening cooperation between VASS and the Turkish scientific institutions will significantly contribute to the joint efforts of the two countries so that Turkey and Vietnam become coherent symbols in the area in the near future.

The first visit of Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey Binali Yıldırım to the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences has ended successfully, leaving a good feeling and deep impression on the Academy’s leadership and staff, motivating the researchers in two countries continue to cooperate closely for the development of social science. Thereby, opening up new opportunities for the development of social science cooperation to enhance understanding between the two people, unlocking the potential for development cooperation, contributing to boosting the friendship and trust between Vietnam and Turkey to new height.
