Seminar on Announcement of Culture 2014

In opening speech, Prof. Dr. Le Hong Ly, Director of Institute of Cultural Studies affirmed: The seminar on Announcement of Culture is annually activity that became a scientific forum for cultural researchers, collectors, lecturers and administrators of research institutes, universities and committees, commission nationwide, and supports cultural researchers to have a chance of meeting and sharing research information; announcing and introducing results, new status of research; under debate cultural issues... Beside traditional dimension of research, nowadays, Institute of Cultural Studies is implementing some new dimensions of research such as practices of contemporary culture, appearance of new cultural phenomenon (internet culture, gender culture…), participating in research programmes that is up-to-date with political life of the country, researching and evaluating cultural heritages after they are recognized by UNESCO, and cooperating in research with local and foreign units.

There were 74 speeches that were selected from hundreds of speeches sent to the organizer. The speeches were divided in 6 subcommittee that were: (1) General issues (14 speeches); (2) Art (14 speeches); (3) Traditional knowledge-culture of ethnic minorities (9 speeches); (4) Beliefs (20 speeches); (5) Village culture (5 speeches); (6) Folk culture (12 speeches). The number of the speeches shows that cultural research day by day develops, attracts participation of many researchers, especially young researchers. In previous times of Announcement of culture, a number of ideas from cultural announcements were developed into scientific research projects, many discussed speeches became new approaches for researchers, cultural research is enlarged day by day, values of folk culture are appreciated by present society, ect.

The speeches attracted concern, exchange and debate of participants, and contributed not least to success of the seminar on Announcement of Culture 2014./.
