Scientific Seminar on “Some aspects of Indian culture”

In the morning on December 12th 2014 in conference hall 3E, at the head office No.1A, Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Vietnam Institute for India and Southwest Asian Studies (VIISAS), Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences coordinated with International Center for Cultural Studies (ICCS), New Delhi, India to organize a scientific seminar on: "Some aspects of Indian culture" presented by Prof. Amarjiva Lochan, Secretary, International Center for Cultural Studies.

Prof. Amarjiva Lochan is recognized as an experienced expert on Indian antique culture and history. He provides lectures and presents special subjects in universities and international conference in about 20 countries, including Vietnam. Prof. Amarjiva Lochan is now a chairman of South and Southeast Asian Association for the Study of Culture and Religion cum collaborator, editor of special research magazines in India, Thailand and US.

At the seminar, Mr. Suresh Chandra Soni, President of ICCS and Prof. Amarjiva Lochan, Secretary of ICCS altogether assess that: Vietnam and India have good traditional cultural relationship for long time. Prof. Amarjiva Lochan also shared many information of Indian culture: (1) That is rich and copious culture in expression of multi religions with many literary works containing human philosophy. In particular Indian people always value family and heighten the holistic (the world as a family). Therefore, that consolidation and development of close cultural relationship between Vietnam and India is an important factor for contribution to maintaining peace and common stability over the world; (2) Showing close links, impact each other between culture and economy in development progress of the nation, ect.

Besides, at the seminar, the two side signed cooperation agreement between VIISAS and ICCS, marking growing step of VIISAS in international cooperation with Indian and international research institutions. Thereby, Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) is toward cooperation, academic exchange, contributing to promotion of training and scientific research on cultural subjects in relevance to India. Issues presented at the seminar attracted concern, discussions of participants. Information shared and exchanged by representatives will be important and useful data for VIISAS’s officials in scientific research as well as generating opportunities for promotion of interaction, scholar exchange, and strengthening understanding of culture between the two in next time./.
