Prof. Dr. Nguyen Tai Dong - Deputy Director of Institute of Philosophy, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Van Ly – Director of Academy of Politics region III, Mr. Nguyen Dinh An - Former Vice Chairman of Da Nang city, Mr. Bui Van Tieng - former Vice Head of Commission for Organization of Da Nang city, and scientists, experts, managers from the Institute of Human Studies, Academy of Politics region III and a number of offices in Da Nang city.

On his introduction speech at the Workshop Assoc. Prof. Sc.D. Luong Dinh Hai – Director of Institute of Human Studies mentioned clearly four major contents of the Workshop. Those were: Firstly, exchange of experiences of countries in the region and the world on human development in the context of globalization and international integration; Secondly, reviews of achievements, limitations on human development of our country currently on different dimensions (economy, culture, education, health, rights, security, environment, etc.); Thirdly, raising challenges and impacts of globalization and international integration on human development in the current period; Last, suggestion of solutions that aims to limit weakness, promote strengths, resolve challenges and negative impacts of globalization and international integration on human development.
The Workshop received 24 reports of scientists and experts, in which, the Organizer selected 11 reports for presentation in 2 sessions of the workshop.
In the first session - Common issues of human development and international experience, the presenters shared common issues of human development of some such countries as Japan, South Korea, China, and some Southeast Asian countries, etc. Thereby, comparing to human development in Vietnam and pointing out challenges as well as experience lessons for human development in Vietnam in the current context of globalization and international integration.

In the second session – The practical issues of human development in Vietnam in the context of globalization and international integration, the workshop focused on analysis, discussion about challenges for human development in Vietnam in the current context of globalization and international integration. That is impact of the global economic crisis, climate change, national security and human security, etc. on human development. Hereby, a number of solutions geared to goal of sustainable development of Vietnamese people in the context of globalization and international integration were recommended.
At the workshop, in addition to shared comments, scientists and experts also outlined challenges for human development in Vietnam in the next stage such as: issues of sustainable employment of coastal fishermen in the context of ensuring security of sea and islands; health care of inhabitants in remote areas; quality of education and health care services to the people; conservation and promotion of cultural values in the process of integration towards goal of human development; human resource development when Vietnam joins the ASEAN Economic Community (AEC), etc.
The workshop was a scientific forum for researchers, experts and managers to point out challenges and propose solutions intended to goal of sustainable development of Vietnamese people in the context of globalization and international integration. After the workshop, the reports will be selected to be edited and amended for printing in Journal of human studies.
