70 years ago, the world witnessed a major event of the twentieth century, the victory of the nonviolent insurgency-led movement launched by Mahatma Gandhi leader, Independence for India and inspiration for the movement for independence and freedom of people all over the world (from Asia to Africa and Latin America), including the movement fight for the freedom of the Vietnamese people under the leadership of President Ho Chi Minh.
2017 is a milestone in the relationship between Vietnam and India, when the two countries commemorate the 45th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations, the 10th anniversary of the strategic partnership, the 25th India-ASEAN partnership. Vietnam and India have a long tradition and many similarities in culture. At the same time, the two countries' relationship to a comprehensive strategic partnership within the framework of Prime Minister Narendra Modi's visit to Vietnam in 2016 marks a major milestone in the bilateral cooperative effort.

On behalf of Academic Leaders, opening remarks at the seminar, Prof. Nguyen Quang Thuan warmly welcomes the participation of all delegates; we also appreciate the good relationship between Vietnam and India and the great contributions of outstanding leaders such as President Ho Chi Minh and Prime Minister Jawaharlal Nehru. Strong ties for the two countries. At the same time, the Chairperson emphasized that India is now one of three comprehensive strategic partners in Vietnam and Vietnam is considered one of the key pillars of the "Eastern Action" policy. The President hopes that the two sides will continue to develop their relations, cooperate in training and research in social sciences and earnestly nurture further solidarity and friendship between Vietnam and India in the future.
Speaking at the talks, Ambassador Parvathaneni Harish shared the difficulties and challenges of India with the miraculous revival and achievements of the past 70 years. The Ambassador emphasized the role of the Government in setting up practical policies for the development of the economy, especially the Digital India initiative (no one was left behind in the Indian Revolution).
In addition, Mr. Parvathaneni Harish appreciated the diplomatic relations between the two countries and at present, good relations between the two sides are developing comprehensively covering the fields, defense - security, cooperation economy; Focus on trade, investment and intensifying cultural exchanges and people. Indian Ambassador to Vietnam especially appreciates ASEAN - the "heart" of the East policy and expects the two sides to launch the Anniversary Summit in New Delhi early next year. This not only represents the overall achievement of the two sides but also outlines the roadmap in the partnership between India and ASEAN in the coming period. The Ambassador expressed his deep belief in the prospect as well as prospects for future cooperation between Vietnam and India.

The seminar was listened to 02 reports focusing on the following issues: The first presentation on Vietnam-India trade relations: Some characteristics and barriers (Assoc. Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Trung presented). The author also suggested the following solutions: (1) Strengthening mutual understanding through increased publicity and self-introduction of each other and respecting the role of people's diplomacy; (2) Enhancing the effectiveness of trade promotion, increasing trade promotion activities on both sides; (3) Should learn each other's language. In addition to English, Vietnam should have more Hindi speakers to gain access to Indian businesses, especially in localities; (4) Propose the two countries to sign bilateral FTA of their own.

The second presentation of Dr. Le Thi Hang Nga presented the view of M.K. Gandhi on Truth - Truth and Non-Violence. For M. Gandhiji, there is no other god than Truth - the only truth and means to reach the Truth is nonviolence... The author emphasizes his own view, namely, Great because this is the birthplace of great people like Mahatma Gandhi.
Discussion of the participants in the seminar related to policies and solutions to promote bilateral trade relations; address social inequalities; the action of India in the implementation of the East policy; bilateral cooperation in the fields; assessing the cooperation between India and ASEAN as well as the tripartite relationship between Vietnam - China - India. Delegates also emphasized that differences between countries should not be a barrier, need to cooperate, resolution of disagreements and a commitment to common development.
The seminar was a great success and a useful forum for scientific exchanges, contributing to the proposal to further promote the cooperation between the State and the solidarity of people's friendship between Vietnam and India increasingly sustainable development.
