Attending the ceremony, on the VASS side there were Porf.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of Party Central Committee, President of VASS; Prof.Dr. Vo Khanh Vinh, Deputy President of VASS; Prof.Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan, Deputy President of VASS; and representatives from VASS member departments.
On the side of Dong Nai province, there were Mr. Tran Dinh Thanh, Member of Party Central Committee, Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee; Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai, Deputy Secretary of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Nguyen Thanh Tri, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People’s Committee; Mr. Huynh Van Toi, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Director of Department of Propaganda and Training; Mr. Vy Vu Van, Member of the Provincial Party Committee, Chairman of the Provincial Committee of Fatherland Front; and representatives from Department of Science and Technology, Dong Nai Radio and Television Station, and the office of the Provincial People’s Committee.

The two parties agreed on the research program in social sciences and humanities for the period 2013-2015 with vision to 2020 as follows:
Objectives of the cooperation:
1) To cooperate and coordinate in the research and application of research results, improvement of capability and operational effectiveness of social science research to serve the local production and living.
2) To provide scientific foundation for the construction, adjustment and completion of strategies and policies for socio-economic development as well as the development projects for sectors from the perspective of social sciences.

3) To cooperate in providing training for experts, researchers, and managers in social sciences.
Cooperative activities:
1) Assessment, evaluation and peer review of the issues related to social sciences and humanities; review of the socio-economic development and the undertaking of the guidelines by the Party and the State on industrialization and modernization in order to propose appropriate development model complying with the local characteristics; providing scientific base for policy making, planning, and the master plan for socio-economic development of Dong Nai province.
2) Undertaking some specific projects in the field of social sciences and humanities; To investigate, evaluate and propose solutions to preserve and promote the cultural and historical values as well as the local revolutionary tradition in order to serve the industrialization and modernization; to coordinate to conduct basic surveys and building databases on socio-economic conditions and environmental resources for the service of planning, policy making and sustainable development of the province; to improve the human resource for a sustainable socio-economic developmen.
3) To coordinate, develop and implement projects to concretize the cooperation program between VASS and the province; to organize seminars, thematic discussion on integration and sustainable development.
4) To organize training courses, for professionals and administrators in the field of social sciences in Dong Nai province; to transfer the application of research results in social sciences to enhance the capacity of local officials.
5) To support and provide information for businesses interested in investment in Dong Nai province as set in the Resolution of the Ninth Provincial Party Congress of Dong Nai.
On behalf of VASS and the People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of VASS and Mr. Dinh Quoc Thai, Chairman of the People’s Committee of Dong Nai Province signed a cooperation agreement in the presence of the leaderships of the two sides.
