Seminar on “Sustainable growth focusing on human and building socialism”

On August 11th 2014, at the Headquarter of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, No. 1A Lieu Giai Street, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, there is a seminar on "Sustainable growth focusing on human and building socialism” presented by Prof. Francois Houtart who earned a master degree in social sciences and a PhD in sociology from the Catholic University of Louvain (Belgium). He was also the ex-director of CETRI (Central Tricontinental).

At the seminar, Prof. Francois Houtart shared his ideas about looking for new theory for capitalism and focusing on the mutual benefits of human. Based on his experiences of doing researches on sociology, Professor has pointed out the key points of crisis of capitalism through many aspects as economy, food, energy and climate; the impacts of development which destroyed nature and human. In order to recover negative points of development, Professor suggested four solutions to replace the capitalism as following: (1) To create the relations with nature; (2) To develop the economy for human life (material and spiritual aspects); (3) To set up a political and social model; (4) To form a socio – economic democratic morphology with a strong interference with culture. Professor stressed on these solutions could be the best ones for human being in the world. 

Other topics discussed also attracted the interest and attention of representatives at the seminar. Ideas of Prof. Francois Houtart were considered as important suggestions for the research works in order to find out the pathway in which human can progress to a better society in future.
