On July 18th, the Vietnam Economic Institute held a seminar in Hanoi titled “Vietnamese enterprises stand on the threshold of digital transformation” with the sponsorship of PetroVietnam Gas Joint Stock Corporation (PV Gas). The seminar aims to help enterprises capture opportunities and overcome barriers in the process of participating in the digital economy.

The Vietnam Institute of Economics under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences organized a Scientific Seminar on the topic “Prospects of US-China relations and impacts on Vietnam's economy” on July 26, 2019, at the Hall of the 12th floor, Building B, No.1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi. The seminar attracted the attention of many scholars from units inside and outside the Academy such as Institute of Chinese Studies; Institute for Americas Studies; Institute of World Economics and Politics; Institute for Economic and Policy Research (University of Economics - Vietnam National University, Ha Noi); and the presence of many researchers of the Vietnam Institute of Economics.

Unified Peace on the Korean Peninsula and the cooperation between the Republic of Korea (RoK)-Mekong was the theme of the 2019 Korea - Mekong Peace Forum which was co-organised by the Western Southeast Asia Council - the RoK’s National Unification Advisory Council and the Institute for Northeast Asian Studies (INAS) under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) on May 10, in Hanoi.

February 18, 2019, at the headquarters of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), No. 1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, the Institute of History belonged to the VASS in collaboration with the Embassy of Finland (in Hanoi) organized a scientific seminar on the topic "The role of historians in conflict prevention and resolution ".

On the occasion of the visit to Vietnam by the Korean Ambassador of Public Diplomacy, in the morning of March 15th, 2018, at the Daewoo Hotel in Hanoi, the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) collaborated with the Korea Institute for Southeast Asian Studies (KISEAS) organized an international scientific conference on public diplomacy dialogue under the theme "East Asian Cooperation and the Roles of Vietnam and Korea."
