President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences receives and works with Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos

In the afternoon on December 12th 2014, in a meeting hall 3B, at the head office No.1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) received and worked with a delegation of the Lao National Council for Social Sciences led by Mr. Bosengkham Vongdala, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos.

At the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of VASS warmly welcomed the first visit and work of Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos and all delegation of the Lao national council for social sciences in the Academy as well as brief introduction of functions, tasks and organizational structure of the Academy, some key tasks that the Academy has implemented recently.

At the meeting, Prof. President Nguyen Xuan Thang and Minister Bosengkham Vongdala discussed many issues relating to preservation, conservation, promotion and standardizing national languages and cooperative issues that the two side need to promote. This is also an issue concerned by Minister Bongsengkham Vongdala since he is also a chairman of Project of Lao language. The visit and work in the Academy was done for research experience exchange, supporting the Project of Lao language to achieve effectiveness and success in next stage.

Previously, Minister Bosengkham Vongdala had a working meeting with Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Duc, Vice President of VASS and some units directly under VASS such as International Cooperation Department, Scientific Management Department, Institute of Linguistics, Vietnam Institute of Lexicography and Encyclopedia, ect. for discussion of some the project related issues.
