The Ambassador was accompanied by Mr. Hong Chong Gil, Second Secretary and Mr. Ri Ho Jun, Commissioner of the Embassy. At the meeting, by the VASS side, there was also Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Duc, Vice President of VASS; MA. Nguyen Thanh Ha, Deputy Director in charge of International Cooperation Department; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Quy Long, Deputy Director of Institute for Northeast Asian Studies.
At the meeting, the Ambassador congratulated on achievements that Vietnam gained in 2014 in economic development, political stability, good deal with social affairs, security-defence, foreign policies,ect. The achievements were result of striving, efforts of all the Party, people including not least contribution of scientists from the VASS. The Ambassador informed adjustments of foreign and domestic policies of DPR Korea in the new context with demands of stability, development in peaceful and friendly environment.
Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang evaluated efforts of Korea’s Labour Party in implementation of its major objectives, and generating dynamics for development; as well as being grateful to the Ambassador for good evaluation about achievements of Vietnam and VASS in 2014. Mr President also shared his opinions about issues needed to be cooperated by the two sides in social sciences and human in next time, such as exchange of research information, scholars, co-organization of conferences on subjects concerned by the two sides .
The Ambassador Kim Chang Il wanted researchers and scientists in social sciences of the two countries to frequently meet and exchange in North Korea and Vietnam. The Ambassador invited Mr President and a VASS’s delegation of scientists and officials to visit and exchange academic with social scientists of DPR Korea as soon as possible.
Mr President of VASS agreed with the Ambassador’s suggestion of organization at first of a scientific conference for the two sides to exchange economic and cultural situation, as well as policies and direction of development in the current context. That needs to develop and maintain procedure of information exchange between the Embassy and VASS in order to inform each other new information for contribution to more understanding process of changing policies of economy, society, foreign affairs of the two sides. Mr President of VASS also thanked the invitation of visiting DPR Korea from the Ambassador. Moreover, at the meeting, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang wished Mr. Kim Chang Il to excellently complete his mission as the Ambassador of the Democratic People’s Republic of Korea to Vietnam./.
