There are Ambassadors, diplomatic staff, UN resident coordinator in Vietnam, Representative of UNDP, UNESCO, JICA, Korea Foundation and other representatives from different international organizations in Hanoi which are partners of VASS such as WB, ADB, KAS, DAAD, EFEO, AUF, SSRC, IRD, JICE, ect. and many other international scholars and experts. In addition, there are Vice Presidents of VASS and other directors of unit members of VASS to participate in the meeting.
In the opening speech, Mr. President of VASS expressed sincere thanks to international partners who effectively supported VASS in fulfilling important political and scientific missions assigned by the Party and Vietnam’s Government. He also shared with international guests significant missions and action policy of VASS in 2015; to propose international partners to maintain the cooperation with VASS to help Vietnam to achieve the ultimate goal of Socialism which is “to make people wealthy, to make country strong, to make society democratic, equitable and civilized “rich people, powerful country and civilized”, as well as to make VASS as a significant research institute in regional level.

To represent international guests, Mrs. Pratibha Mehta, UNDP resident coordinator in Vietnam expressed the happiness and honor to be a part of this meeting. She reviewed the effective traditional partnership relation between VASS and other developing partners as well as UNDP in terms of collecting and providing scientific evidences to serve the planning process of developing strategies and policies in Vietnam. She also thanked experts and scientists of VASS to closely collaborate with international partners to implement many research projects, to suggest many new ideas and to recommend creative policies. She expected this good relationship will be developed further and she wished VASS and other guests a happy new year.
The meeting was very warm and close that significantly contributed to strengthen the understanding and relations between VASS and other international scientific and developing partners.
