The workshop is jointly organized by the Cuban Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the committee on implementing the economic model update of the sixth Congress of the Communist Party of Cuba.
Having opening speech at the workshop, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, lead of the Vietnamese economic expert team, has praised the workshop as a practical activity of implementing the result of Vietnamese President’s visit in Cuba recently.
Vietnamese experts also presented about Vietnam in 30 years of reform, then shared experiences as well as challenges during the progress of Reform and building the socialist - oriented market economy, focused on 6 general topics as followed: the overview of Vietnam’s reforms; agricultural reforms and development; industrialization and modernization; reforms of state – owned enterprises, private economy growth and investment attraction; public administrative reforms and monetary policy and banking activity renewals.
Cuban representative showed a high evaluation for the presentation of Vietnamese experts, especially for those successful reforms of agriculture, industry, international integration, trade opening, foreign investment attraction, industrial growth, state owned enterprises as well as building a socialist – oriented market economy so on.
Workshop’s topics showed the interest and attention of representative to the experiences of Vietnam on financial and monetary reforms, macroeconomic, solution to complicated issues on state budget, monetary and exchange rates.
Having speech at the end of the workshop, Marino Murillo - Politburo member, Vice President of the Cuban Council Ministers, President of the committee of on implementing the economic model update the sixth congress of the Communist Party of Cuba hailed the preparation and topics presented by Vietnamese team. He evaluated the experiences of Vietnam as useful and should be revised so that Cuba could implement and update the economic model which is suitable for their own conditions and circumstances.
Mr. Marino Murillo also held a private meeting with Vietnamese economic team to exchange experiences about macro economic and monetary policies./.
