International conference on “Vietnam-Myanmar relations: Retrospects and prospects”

On toward 40th celebration of relations between Vietnam and Myanmar, in the morning on December 8th 2014, at the conference hall 3D, at head office 1A, Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Institute for Southeast Asian Studies, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) in coordination with Myanmar Institute of strategic and international studies, Ministry of Foreign Affairs of The Republic of the union of Myanmar co-organized the International conference on “Vietnam–Myanmar relations: retrospects and prospects”, that aims to evaluate process of relations between the two countries in last time, and together find solutions to promotion of peaceful and cooperative relations between Vietnam and Myanmar in the new context.
International workshop on “Human security in Asia: Sharing European perspective and policy implications for Vietnam”

In a cooperative framework between Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) and Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS), the Federal Republic of Germany, in two days of November 11th - 12th 2014, at No. 1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, VASS and KAS co-organized the international workshop on “Human security in Asia: Sharing European perspective and policy implications for Vietnam”, with participation of scientists, administrators, policy-makers, researchers from international and domestic ministries, committees, commissions, universities, ect. Chairmen of the workshop are Prof. Dr. Vo Khanh Vinh, Vice President of VASS and Dr. Wilhelm Hofmeister, Director of Regional Programme of policy dialogue with Asia, KAS’s representative in Singapore.

On November 12th 2014, at No. 1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) and Center for International Research and Education (CIRE) of the Islamic Republic of Iran co-organized the international workshop on “Iran’s foreign policy and the Vietnam – Iran relations in the new context” with participation of representatives from Vietnam including Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of VASS; Assoc. Prof. Dr. Pham Van Duc, Vice President of VASS; other scientists from specific institutions of VASS; and administrators, policy-makers, researchers from ministries, commissions, committees, universities, ect. Representatives of Iran are Dr. Hadi Soleimanpour, Director of CIRE; Sir Hosein Alvandi Behineh, Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam and other participants from Iran and Embassy of the Islamic Republic of Iran to Vietnam.
Seminar on outline of " Vietnam development Report 2035 – Institutions pillar"

In the framework for cooperation between Vietnam Academy Social Sciences (VASS) and World Bank (WB), in the morning of November, 4th 2014, at the head office No. 1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, VASS and WB organized a seminar on outline of "Vietnam Development Report 2035" with participation of WB’s experts and VASS’s scientists and experts.
