On the celebration of 40th year of diplomatic relations between France and Vietnam, Vietnam Museum of Ethnology (part of VASS) has held an exhibition of photo album on “The Central Highlands of Vietnam in the 1950s of the 20th century” in July 10th 2014. Photos were taken between 1952 and 1955 by Jean-Marie Duchange – a French photographer. The photo album,with total 200 pictures in size 6 x 6, was produced from two modern cameras asRolleiflex and Samflex Rolleiflex. The collection is carefully protected by author and his family so they are in good conditions. Recently, Mrs. Évelyne Duchange andMrs. Nadège Bourgoin, daughter grandchild of author, have provided negative films to Quai Branly Museum (France) as award and part of collection was contributed to Vietnam Museum of Ethnology.

On the morning of 18th February 2014, President of VASS Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang greeted Mr. Jun Dae Joo – Ambassador of the Republic of Korea (RoK) in Vietnam at the headquarters of the Academy of Vietnam Social Sciences (VASS), No. 1 Lieu Giai Street, Hanoi.

On the afternoon of 24th January 2014, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang – President of Vietnam Academy Social Sciences had a meetingwith Mr. Ota Hon-Bu-Cho, Assisstant for President Office of KYOCERA Corporation, Japan. To participate in the meeting, there were Mr. Ho Duc Phoc, Secretary of Nghe An’s Party Committee, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Tran Thi An – Director of Scientific Management Department, M.A Nguyen Thanh Ha – Deputy director of International Cooperation Department.

On 14th of January 2014, President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang greeted President of Lao Academy of Social Sciences (LASS) Assoc.Prof.Dr. Thongsalith Mangnomek at the headquarters of the Academy of Vietnam Social Sciences (VASS), No. 1 Lieu Giai Street, Hanoi.

On 14th of January 2014, President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang greeted Mr. Yamamoto Ichita, Minister of State in charge of Science and Technology Policy, Ocean Policy and Territory Integrity, Information Technology Policy, and Space Policy of Japan at the headquarters of the Academy of Vietnam Social Sciences (VASS), No. 1 Lieu Giai Street, Hanoi.
