Celebrating Africa Day 2023, on the afternoon of May 24, 2023, at Hall 1B, 176 Thai Ha, Dong Da, Hanoi, Institute of African and Middle Eastern Studies (under the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences) cooperated with a group of Ambassadors of African countries in Vietnam to organize an international seminar "Promoting the African Continental Free Trade Area (AfCFTA): Opportunities and Challenges for Vietnam". The workshop had the participation of Vietnamese, African and international researchers, entrepreneurs and policy makers.

On the afternoon of May 25, 2023, at the head office at No. 1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Dr. Dang Xuan Thanh, Vice President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) received a delegation from the Institute of Social Sciences of Yunnan Province led by Mr. Shen Huong Hung, Vice President of the Institute of Social Sciences of Yunnan Province , a researcher at the China Institute of Southeast Asian and South Asian Studies (Kunming).

On the afternoon of May 23, 2023, at the head office at No. 1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Dr. Phan Chi Hieu, President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) received Mr. Clauspeter Hill, Deputy Head of European and International Cooperation Department, KAS Berlin Institute, Federal Republic of Germany to greet the commune deliver.

On the afternoon of May 25, 2023, at Hall 3C, headquarter No. 1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Dr. Phan Chi Hieu, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) had a meeting with the President of Lotte Korea Fund.

On the morning of April 24, 2023, at the head office at No. 1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Dr. Phan Chi Hieu, President of the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS), received Mr. Piragibe dos Santos Tarrago, the Brazilian President's Special Envoy for ASEAN, to visit and work at the Academy. The reception was honoured to welcome Mr. Marco Farani, Brazilian Ambassador to Vietnam and Ambassador of Brazil to Vietnam.
