At the invitation of Institute National de Recherché et de Scientifique (INRS) - Canada, a high-level delegation of VASS, headed by Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, Member of the Party Central Committee and President of VASS, visited Canada from June 25th to July 1st, 2013. The visit had two goals: i) to hold a discussion with INRS (Canada) on expanding research and training collaboration within the social sciences; ii) to study and learn about ethnic minority policies in Quebec.

On the afternoon of June 12th, 2013, Prof.Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, member of the Party Central Committee, President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) received a delegation from Diplomatic Academy of Singapore headed by Mr. Ampalavanar Selverajah, Titular Ambassador, Director of Singapore’s Diplomatic Academy. Mr. Selverajah was accompanied by a number of counselors and secretaries of the Singapore Embassy in Vietnam.

On June 3rd, 2013, in Paris, the General Meeting of the European Consortium for Asian Field Studies (ECAF) took place, together with the signing of a charter to establish “Public Interest Group (GIP) – ECAF”, with the participation of 28 representatives of member organizations (science academies, research institutions and universities based in France, other European countries and Asia). The meeting’s goal was to promote social science research and teaching, especially in the fields of linguistics, culture, history, archeology, and religion

The signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement between the Central Economic Committee (CEC) and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) was held in the afternoon of 17 May 2013 at the headoffice of the Central Economic Committee.

On 13 May 2013, at the headquarters of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences, No. 1 Lieu Giai Street, Hanoi, the signing ceremony of the cooperation agreement for research in social sciences and humanities was held between Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) and the People’s Committee of Dong Nai province for the period 2013-2015 with a vision to 2020.
