On December 9th 2014, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) and Lao Academy of Social Sciences (LASS) organized ceremonially a ceremony of handover and receipt of the Library - Documentation Centre and Office Building Complex of Lao Academy of Social Sciences. The ceremony welcomed Mr. Nguyen Xuan Phuc, Member of Politburo, Vice Prime Minister, Chairman of subcommittee on Vietnam-Laos cooperation; Mr. Somsavad Lengsavad, Member of Poliburo, Vice Prime Minister of the Lao People’s Democratic Republic, Chairman of subcommittee on Laos-Vietnam cooperation; Mr. Nguyen Manh Hung, Ambassador of the Socialist Republic of Vietnam to the Lao People’s Democratic Republic and many leaders of many ministries, committees of Vietnam, Laos, and all staff of LASS.

On December 19th 2014, at the head office No. 1A Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Vice President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) – Prof. Dr. Nguyen Quang Thuan received Mr. Beketzhan Zhumakhanov, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Kazakhstan to Vietnam.

In the afternoon on December 12th 2014, in a meeting hall 3B, at the head office No.1 Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi, Prof. Dr. Nguyen Xuan Thang, President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) received and worked with a delegation of the Lao National Council for Social Sciences led by Mr. Bosengkham Vongdala, Minister of Information, Culture and Tourism of Laos.

For developing framework of cooperation enhancement in scientific research and training, on November 12th 2014, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) and Center for International Research and Education (CIRE) of the Islamic Republic of Iran ceremonially organized Signature ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding between the two.

In Oct 6th 2014, Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences (VASS) has had an official discussion with Laos Academy of Social Sciences (LASS) at Conference Hall 3E, Building no. 1A Lieu Giai, Ba Dinh, Hanoi.
